fhbc_maart_nuusbrief_01_17The main aim of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) of 1993 is to provide for compensation in the case of disablement caused by occupational injuries or diseases, sustained or contracted by employees in the course of their employment, or death resulting from such injuries or disease.  When an injury on duty (IOD) occurs or an occupationally-related disease has been contracted, the Compensation Commissioner, from the Department of Labour, must be informed.

Prior to October 2019 a doctor could submit the documents of the claim on behalf of the Employer.  During October 2019 the Compensation Fund (CF) introduced a new online platform which requires of each Employer to register as a User on the CompEasy system and to take responsibility for the submission of a claim, together with all the required documents.

For a claim to be valid, Employers are expected to submit IOD claims within 7 days and occupationally-related disease claims within 14 days.

To register as a User on the CompEasy system, click on the following link  https://compeasy.labour.gov.za:44328/fiori and complete the necessary online User registration process, and upload all the required documents.

Once you have completed the User registration process on CompEasy, and your registration has been assessed and your User access granted, you will receive a notification email from the CF, containing your User credentials.  If you have followed the above process and need assistance you can email CompEasySupport@labour.gov.za.
